Under the direction and supervision of the Family Enhancement Supervisor, the Knowledge Keeper will be responsible to receive information and assessment of family function and problems. The Knowledge Keeper is responsible for making referrals, ongoing assessment, evaluations and helping children and families through basic counseling, advocacy and support as required. Knowledge Keeper to empower families to adequately provide for the physical and emotional well-being of their family members. This role will support all clients to develop the required understanding of the historical and current impacts of colonization and provide guidance and advice to authority staff within all areas of the organization.

Summary Working in the Human Resources department, the Human Resources (HR) Generalist provides leadership and advisory services to assigned communities and departments. On-call/afterhours services are defined as responding to all crisis situations. These requests arise outside of the regular office hours. CHILD ABUSE COORDINATOR

Under the direction and supervision of the Director of Protection Services, the Child Abuse Coordinator is required to work independently and perform work of a considerable variety and/or moderate complexity. Tasks include the management of the program and ensure the service delivery in functioning in accordance with the agency policies/procedures, provincial legislation and standards for Nikan Awasisak Agency Inc., as required to service within its mandate. The Child Abuse Coordinator oversees the process of investigations. There is a requirement for thorough knowledge of policies, procedures and regulations of the organization.
Qualifications:
A BSW degree is required or related experience. Knowledge and understanding of current issues related to Child & Family Services, Child & Family Services Act, Adoption Act and the Child & Family Services Authority Act.
Knowledge of crisis intervention, child abuse, risk intervention and interpersonal communication.
Respect of First Nations culture, traditional family and child rearing practices. Ability to speak Cree is a definite asset.
Duties include but not limited to:
- Ensure effective and efficient delivery of intake investigations in accordance with the legislation (Child and Family Services Act), provincial standards and the direction of management;
- Develop an annual department service plan to facilitate the on-going development and maintenance of services;
- Develop community-based protocol, standards and procedures in relation to the investigation and management of child abuse cases;
- Maintain a statistical monitoring system to ensure Agency effectiveness and efficacy, monitor trends and identify areas of improvement;

FACILITY MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN
Nikan Awasisak Agency Inc. is seeking one (1) full time permanent Facility Technician for our Cross Lake Office. A satisfactory Criminal Record Check and Child Abuse Registry Check are conditions of employment.
Under the direction and supervision of the Director of Prevention Services, the Facility Technician is responsible for assisting with the overall maintenance and operation of the Nikan Awasisak Agency buildings and grounds that are currently, or may be in the future, operated and maintained by Nikan Awasisak Agency. The Facility Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing operation, maintenance and in some instances custodian services at these buildings
Qualifications:
- Minimum Grade 12 or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Facilities Maintenance Diploma or equivalent education in a building maintenance related field
- Minimum of 3 years related work experience.
- A combination of education and experience will be considered.
- Experience in building maintenance and in trouble shooting repair requirements in a variety of construction trades such as carpentry and plumbing.
- Excellent oral/written communication skills
