Our History
On October 1st, 2011, Nikan Awasisak Agency Inc. officially received its mandate from the First Nations of Northern Manitoba Child & Family Services Authority. The Agency was preceded by Awasis Agency of Northern Manitoba Inc. from 1983. For 10 years prior to receiving our own mandate, the Awasis Agency-Cross Lake sub-office operated autonomously from the central operations of Awasis Agency.
